Glass Installations recently designed a mirror with a light-weight handle to help in the post operative recovery of amputees.  Using our Featherweight Foil Mirror technology, we designed and manufactured a bespoke mirror for rehabilitation purposes for use with occupational therapists and physiotherapists.  It is thought that mirror therapy can help phantom limb pain in amputations due to the symmetry mirrors provide helping with the area of the brain that controls sensation, touch, temperature and pain receptors.

Featherweight Foil Mirrors are the best lightweight solution for this kind of design.  They are made of a stretched aluminium foil that has a reflection quality as good as, if not better than glass and can be produced in any number of sizes and shapes.  We hope to bring you more information on this story from the London Hospital provided with the mirror.  Please view our gallery of previously designed Featherweight installations and our Featherweight Product page for more information on the product.
