Recently our installation team have been working hard at the new Elephant and Castle Leisure Centre in South East London. Nearly 100 square metres of specialist gym mirrors have been installed, as part of a £18.5m development by Balfour Beatty, in conjunction with Southwark Council.
Glass Installations were approached by Balfour Beatty to manufacture and install high impact gym mirrors. These were to be installed into the state of the art gym and spinning studio as well a two further fitness studios . The high specification for the gym fit out called for a high quality gym mirror system, the obvious choice was our Image “18” Mirror System.
Our Image “18” Gym Mirrors
Our Image “18” High Impact mirrors are our top of the range design of dance and gym mirrors. Designed and constructed with safety and style in mind, they incorporate an impact resistant cushioner and a cross-linked class A safety backing. If the mirror was to break it would break cleanly with no shards or slivers and remain intact. The Image “18” mirrors are installed mechanically using our purpose made polished Aluminium “J” carriers and mirror adhesive. This avoids the use of unsightly screws and results in a more secure fixing method, as well as a more aesthetically pleasing image and a high quality image reflection. As seen in the image below the continuation of image reflection is maintained and remains uninterrupted.
High Quality Gym Fixtures
The all new leisure facilities will include a 25m community swimming pool, a 12m learner pool, a four-court sports hall, a 140 station fully equipped gym, two studios, a spinning room, wet and dry changing facilities and sauna and steam room facilities. It will also provide a creche, cafe and office facilities, and is set to open later in the summer.
