Our installation teams have been hard at work fitting a large number of our specialist gym and studio mirrors. As the year comes to a close, we are proud to have been working on behalf of Interserve Construction. This time at the all new sports & fitness centre at University of Birmingham.
The new state of the art, 360 Sports & Fitness Centre, offers a unique combination of facilities available for use by students, staff and the local community. The University of Birmingham has invested £55m in to the project. It is their biggest investment in sport to date and showcases how sport is an integral part of campus life.
Some of the facilities include:
- Birmingham’s first 50m Olympic sized swimming pool, complete with a movable floor which enables the pool to be used for different requirements and abilities.
- A large and small multi-use sport halls, with spectator seating for 800 people
- A range of activity and fitness studios
- An extensive fitness gym which houses over 200 pieces of equipment
- Six glass-backed squash courts
- A Performance & Wellbeing Centre
- A range of assessment & treatment rooms, rehabilitation rooms and a performance lab.
Gym & Activity Studio Mirrors – A Continuous Image Reflection
A large run of our Image 18 High Impact Mirrors were installed into one of the Activity Studios and Members Gyms. At a length of 18m and 2m high, they created a fantastic continuous image reflection. Due to the way in which our Image 18 Mirrors System is constructed, a uninterrupted, high quality reflection can be achieved. By using our Image 18 Mirror System we are able to overcome the majority of wall deformations and provide a high quality, continuous reflection across the whole of the installation. Due to the combination of the Class A safety backing and the polystyrene cushion protection, the Image 18 Mirrors provide a safe, high quality installation. Large Scale Vanity Mirror – Image 6 Mirror System
In addition to the studio mirrors, our customer asked us to supply and install a range of vanity mirrors too. Our Image 6 Mirror System offers another safe, secure installation very similar to the Image 18 System. Our team of installers fitted 50 No. different vanity mirrors, throughout numerous changing areas, treatment and assessment rooms. These are a popular choice for washrooms and changing areas, especially in areas of high use. Fitted using a slimline polished aluminium “J” channel fixing technique, which results in a sleek appearance.
