Both staff and students are soon going to benefit from all new performing arts facilities at Hillsborough College.   Glass Installations were approached by contractors Clugston to supply and install our specialist dance barre system into the new dance studio.

Development of Hillsborough College

The new performing arts and media department at Hillsborough College are part of an upgrade to the education and sports facilities currently taking place within the Sheffield area.  The £8.8m two-storey extension will include a theatre, dance studio, drama studio and rehearsal rooms.  The extension will also house new horticultural studies facilities.

After a few finishing touches the new dance studio will be ready for the students of Sheffield to enjoy in the new term.

Double Tier Dance Studio Barres

Over 30 linear metres of double tier Image “6” beech dance barres, complete with coordinating backing board, were installed into the new dance studio, ready for the start of the new term.  The Image “6” bracket was chosen for its practical, simple yet effective style, as well as working within the customer’s budget.

Using the double tier brackets eliminates the need to use two separate brackets, and therefore creates a neat and clutter free appearance of the dance barre, whilst being versatile and easy for dancers to use.  A single tier dance barre is also available.

The Image “6” dance barres can be fixed directly onto a wall, as is the case at Hillsborough College, or they can be fixed in conjunction with our Image “6” mirror system.

As an alternative to the Image “6” range, our top of the range Image “18” barre brackets are manufactured using polished stainless steel and add that extra bit of style and finesse, whilst maintaining Glass Installations high standards of functionality and safety.
